When we moved into our new house I gave Bee the BIG room so she could have a combo bedroom and play room. I wanted to keep most of her toys upstairs so I could work at my desk in my bedroom while she played in her room with her toys. I thought I would share her room with you, as well as some of our favourite things in it. Here are our toddler room ideas and inspiration!
B’s favourite friend of all is Willow the deer, from Cuddle + Kind. I love this Canadian company! For every doll sold, 10 meals are provided to children in need. The dolls are ethically made in Peru, handcrafted by women artisans, which provides them with a sustainable, fair-trade income. Cuddle + Kind’s goal is 1 million meals per year, and they’re well on their way for 2016. I can’t wait to get our hands on their mermaids for B’s room, since it has a sort of mermaid theme starting! View all Cuddle + Kind hand knit dolls here.
Her beautiful rug is actually machine washable. It is by Lorena Canals, and I will be talking about them and her rug on the blog very soon!
Like any child, Bee has favourite toys. I’m going to do my best to list as many of them as I can in this post. In addition to the stuffed friends and books mentioned above, some of her favourites are pictured here!
1. mas production arts cupcake matching game | 2. little sapling toys camera | 3. fawn over baby blocks | 4. horse stable & horses | 5. a wolf’s tale book | 6. mas production arts super hero peg dolls
These sweet dolls were handcrafted by April Moffatt and I am just obsessed with them. B loves to take this gentleman’s vest off, then put it back on, then take it off… you get the idea. And she loves to play with her mermaid’s hair and sing to her. I honestly have never seen such beautiful dolls in my life. I highly recommend you check these out and watch my Instagram for a GIVEAWAY soon 😉
Her super soft blanket is by Saranoni and I steal it whenever I can. It’s seriously the softest blanket ever. She calls it her fuzzy blanket, and some nights she can’t sleep unless it’s touching her skin in some way!
This beautiful height chart (that I really need to get up on the wall!) was given to B for her first birthday from her nannie & vava. I absolutely adore it. I am not sure what shop they got it from, so here is a link to some on etsy.
In her basket we have some more favourites!
1. stuffed horses (second hand purchase) | 2. 3and3 heirloom owl doll | 3. stuffed bear (vintage, belonged to my sister) | 4. pretend with poppins squirrel | 5. the wild octopus | 6. monster | 7. sophie & lili doll
In this rolling cart (I took the wheels off because toddler) are her learning tools and her craft supplies. She doesn’t really bother with it and it helps me keep it all organized. We got her chalk board given to us and she loves to “mark” on it. It doesn’t match her room and it’s cumbersome so I will likely replace it, but for free, it works. It will probably go elsewhere or into storage until we have a basement someday. Pardon the dusty floor, as well 😉
Since taking these photos were taken we received our Honest diapers bundle, so those have been added to her shelf. But we have a little box of diapers right beside her bed for easy night and nap time prep. She only wears diapers for sleeping, but it’s nice to have them handy.
B’s room doesn’t really have a “theme”, as I know many toddler and children’s rooms do. I’ve never been one for themes, I just like to co-ordinate decor. She has mermaid bedding and there’s lots of colours. I wanted her room to be bright and happy so she would enjoy playing and sleeping in it! I think I love it even more than she does, though 😉
