Hey friends! I hope you’re having an awesome week. Mine is GREAT! I am loving this weather, and we are grilling a LOT, so I’ve been using a lot of spice mixes and rubs to flavour our grilled foods. I thought I would share my favourites with you, so I’m gonna share one every few days for the next little bit. Today I am sharing my favourite dairy free ranch spice mix, which is perfect for anyone who is vegan, lactose intolerant, doing the Whole 30 challenge, or trying to eat paleo. And if you’re ranch crazy like me you will LOVE this mix – it tastes just like the real deal!
I originally found this recipe on The Pinning Mama and have adapted it ever so slightly for my own personal preferences. As I mentioned above, I am a bit ranch crazy, so when I was doing the Whole 30 challenge I was desperate for a ranch flavour without the milk products. Once I found this I fell in love HARD.
My favourite way to use this mix while I was doing the Whole 30 challenge was on shredded chicken breast, with a little bit of hot sauce and ghee. It made it taste identical to chicken wings dipped in ranch. I also used it when I roasted a whole chicken, used it on potatoes, and even used it on veggies. It’s so versatile!
Add all the ingredients to a spice jar and store. Shake up the ingredients or mix them with a spoon before using, as some contents will settle to the bottom. If you’re looking for a substitute for a ranch packet in a recipe, used 2 heaping tablespoons of this mix in place of the packet. Enjoy!!
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 4 tbsp parsley
- 1 tbsp dill weed
- 2 tsp freeze-dried chives
- 1 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
- 4 tsp onion powder
- 4 tsp dried onion flakes
- Add all ingredients to a small bowl and mix well.
- Store in an air-tight spice jar or container.
- Use to season anything your heart desires!
I’d love to know what you try it on and what you think!
