Yesterday was Good Friday, the beginning of what will be a wonderful Easter weekend. Since my parents have been separated since I was young, I have always split my time between two homes on holidays. Which is totally okay, I mean more yummy treats and food that way! But now with Mike in my life that’s another family to visit over the holidays. It can get a tad hectic! Thankfully this weekend will work perfectly – Friday we would visit his parents, Saturday my dad and nana, and Sunday my grandma on my mom’s side (my mom is visiting my sister in Indianapolis).
I made cookies on Thursday night, which I usually never do. I didn’t want to show up empty handed! I am the WORST at making cookies, I mean they just never turn out how I imagine they will. These ones were good, but were no exception – they were so crunchy. Oh well, I will keep trying!
On Friday we packed the car up with cookies and drove to visit his mom and dad. We actually do this weekly for a family supper, which I think is a lovely tradition. We had delicious food and snacks, and B got to play with her 5 cousins, which she LOVES!
B wore a dress that belonged to me as a baby, pink sparkly shoes, and her little bunny clip.
She looked so sweet!
After we ate brunch we got our boots and coats on and went outside. B played in the mud and puddles for a little bit, and then all of her cousins came outside, too. Her cousins, their moms, and I went for a slow walk around the crescent that her Gran and Papa live on. B LOVED it. She struggled to keep up but she didn’t get upset, she laughed and laughed when the kids would run by her.
She had so much fun!
After the walk, all the moms and dads played two exciting (and competitive) games of Pictionary. It was women vs. men and it was a BLAST. The men won both times – but we have challenged them to a rematch at the next family supper, and we are confident we will win!
Friday was such a great day. I am looking forward to our next family dinner which is today with my dad, nana, aunt and uncle. I don’t see my pops as often as I’d like to, so I look forward to the opportunities when I get to do so.
I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!
