As some of you may know, I am an ambassador for Maxwell Designs so I’ve had the chance to communicate with and get to know the beautiful and talented woman pictured above. Her name is Maggie, and she is the one woman show behind the shop.
If you haven’t checked out Maxwell Designs yet, you need to. Maggie makes gorgeous products like the ones pictured below (which happen to be new to her site!). They make great gifts, and you can even stuff her gorgeous products with OTHER gifts. It’s like gift inception! My favourites right now are the snack sacs. All of her stuff come in amazing prints, you just pick your favourites.
Here’s your chance to get to know Maggie better.
Tell us a bit about yourself!
Well, whilst I am Canadian by birth I grew up in the UK. I have a Diploma in Hotel & Catering, a Degree in Marketing & Business and a Postgraduate in Teaching. I was also in the British army for 3 years. My favourite color has to be aqua.
Tell us a bit about your shop!
Maxwell Designs is now heading into its 9th year and although the some of the products have changed over the years essentially the shop is the same. I how always concentrated on eco-friendly, reusable products with more than just one use.
Where did you get the idea for your products and shop name?
My store is named after my first son Maxwell and the idea came to me when I was looking for an eco-friendly diaper bag and couldn’t find one.
What inspires you?
In my day to day business life colors, shapes and textures inspire me. I am continually drawn to different colors and patterns. It’s usually a fabric that inspires me to design or change something with a product. In my “other” life my children inspire me, to do better, to work harder and to appreciate the small things in life.
What is your favourite season and why?
My absolute favorite season has to be summer (as I don’t like being cold and love to watch the boys swimming outside or biking in the neighborhood on a warm summer day) but my favorite holiday is Christmas. If I lived in Australia it would be perfect!
What is one thing you just can NOT live without?
First and foremost would be my family, family is extremely important to me. Next would be access to the food we need to give my youngest son in particular the nourishment he needs to catch up to his peers.
Keep your eyes peeled for more from Maggie and Maxwell Designs!
