Recently I had the immense pleasure of getting to review the incredible toys by Melody of MAS Production Arts. I’ve gotta tell ya, guys.. if B could tell you how awesome these toys are, she would write a novel. She LOVES them!
Early Learning Counting Blocks
Melody sent us a few things – Early Learning Counting Blocks, a Fill & Spill toy complete with a little wooden container for the discs, and Early Learning Waldorf Inspired Stacking and Lacing Spools! She also sent us a beautiful colour sorting mat, similar to THIS one.
My favourite thing about all of these amazing toys is how they will grow with B, and as she develops and learns, she will play with them differently. Here’s how she uses each one NOW, and how she can use them in the future:
Early Learning Counting Blocks
B really just carries these around the house, bangs them against each other or other things, and tosses them around. But someday she will be able to use them to identify words and numbers, as well as colours!
Fill & Spill Toy
B is so good at placing the discs inside the container, and she can even put the lid on, too. She’s refining her fine motor skills by doing that, and it’s so awesome to watch. When she is older she can use the discs to identify animals, colours, and sort them accordingly.
Stacking & Lacing Spools
Right now B loves it when mama stacks the spools so she can knock them over. It’s her most favourite game! She carries these around the house, too (I find them everywhere!). I think they are her favourite because they can roll away, which she thinks is hilarious. The spools come with a rope that she can someday use to lace the spools, as well. And she will even be able to stack them on her own eventually!
B doesn’t do much with the mat right now besides carry it or toss it around. However, I place the other toys on the mat in their respective colour panel, and someday she will be able to do that, too. The mat has different textures and fabrics on it, as well as tags and vivid colours.
As you can probably tell, the main goal of MAS Production Arts toys is learning through play. And that is the most important thing to me when I search for toys for B. Sure, plastic toys that just make sounds and flash twinkly lights are entertaining and pretty. They have their place, too! But I just LOVE watching B learn new things while she plays with her wooden toys and shapes.
I could not recommend Melody and MAS Production Arts toys more highly. In fact, based solely off of the amount of fun B gets out of them I’d recommend them. But the fact that they are made for learning as well as fun, and keeping in mind the amount of care and thought that goes into the planning and creation of each toy – THAT is why I will continue to recommend MPA toys to anyone and everyone I know.
Plus Melody is super sweet and a total doll – she’s giving all of YOU 15% off your whole order with the code USANDHIM on her Etsy shop HERE!
ENJOY! And don’t forget to share pictures of your little one enjoying their toys with the hashtag #MasteringTheArtOfPlay!
