I could be the only one, but with the growth of popularity in wooden toys again, I think not..
I seriously dislike plastic toys.
I am not a fan of toys that require batteries to make noises.
I loathe toys that are dangerous, made with toxic materials, or have small parts.
But I LOVE wooden toys.
The best thing in the world to see as a parent is your child learning something right before your eyes. When I watched B play with her wooden stacker from Little Sapling Toys, watched her tiny hands place the pieces on the spike, I was overcome with so much pride. I felt myself light up from the inside out, and I scrambled for my camera to capture the moment.
Now it’s one of her favourite toys, and I work so hard to make sure none of the pieces get lost because she carries them around the house with her!
I love LST of course because their toys beautiful, but also because every bit of their business is powered with so much heart and soul. Kimber and Nick (husband and wife!) plant a tree for every toy sold AND they actually give a dang about what their products are made from and packaged in. They use FSC Certified hardwoods, recycled content packaging and participate in their local green power program – all for a healthy planet and quality toys! And wanna hear something funny and perfect? They’re from Cedar City, Utah. Get it? hehe!
How cute is this wooden camera? You can actually zoom – it’s totally interactive. I can’t wait until B starts playing pretend and taking pictures like mama!
When I emailed Kimber about the toys they had available, I selected my two favourites. When she sent them to me, she added a surprise to the box – a cupcake shaped teether! I couldn’t believe it – how thoughtful! I’m still not sure if she knew how much I love cupcakes or if it was a lucky guess, but either way – LOVE!
Did you know that LST has the widest selection of wooden teethers available?
Because they do! Here’s a few of my favs:
LST have a really great social media presence and they are so great about interacting with their fans. Since they’re the biggest seller of toys on Etsy, I have no doubt in my mind that they’re busy – yet they still take the time to make sure questions are answered and pictures are posted. There’s an Instagram profile for the products (run by Kimber), and an Instagram profile for the wood SHOP (run by Nick)! It’s super cool to get a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at how everything works in the wood shop.
Please take the time to check out their links, I really love this shop and this couple, and I cannot recommend them any more highly than I do! It’s just not possible
